Ann Tronde, Node Director at Forum Söder, is the new Chair of Kliniska Studier Sverige.
Chairmanship rotating to Forum Söder
The chairmanship of Kliniska Studier Sverige rotates between the six regional nodes in the collaboration. As of 1 July 2025, Ann Tronde will lead the national efforts to strengthen the conditions for clinical studies across Sweden.
- I look forward to working together with the Swedish Research Council, the steering committee, the management group, staff at the regional nodes and other stakeholders within the clinical studies ecosystem to preserve, protect and further develop this strong and unique collaboration. Our aim is to continue improving our offer to researchers, research staff and life science companies, says Ann Tronde, Chair of Kliniska Studier Sverige.
Extensive experience from the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare sector
Ann Tronde holds a degree in biomedical science and a PhD in biopharmaceutics. She has extensive experience in clinical research from both the pharmaceutical industry and the healthcare sector. In industry, she has worked in research and development throughout the entire drug discovery process. Since 2016, she has held several roles within the collaborative framework of Kliniska Studier Sverige. Today, she serves as Node Director at Kliniska Studier Sverige - Forum Söder.
- I am extremely proud of the Kliniska Studier Sverige we have built over the years. It has been an ambitious and rewarding journey to jointly develop our national infrastructure for clinical studies and to witness how operations and colleagues have grown. Together, we have improved the conditions for conducting clinical studies throughout Sweden through the excellent research support units established within the regions, says Ann Tronde.
